Your work stays local
Your projects, manuscripts, outlines, and covers are stored in a private database on your own computer. We don't need a copy of your book to run the app.
Cloud backup is optional
If you enable cloud backup on a subscription plan, encrypted copies of your projects are stored so you can restore and sync across devices. You control whether this is on.
Your AI keys
If you bring your own API key, it's encrypted at rest on your device using Windows DPAPI and never leaves your machine. Managed-AI keys are held securely on our servers and are never shipped inside the app.
AI providers
When you use AI features, the text needed for that task is sent to the model provider you selected (for managed AI, through our servers; for bring-your-own-key, directly to your provider). We don't sell your content or use it to train models.
Account & billing
For subscriptions we store the account and billing details needed to provide the service. Payment processing is handled by a PCI-compliant provider; we don't store full card numbers.
Website analytics
On this website we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic and how visitors move through the site. No cookies are set, and no personal or cross-site tracking data is collected — which is why you won't see a cookie banner here.
